Today Liverpool confirmed Roy Hodgson's appointment as new manager. Here I am adding my voice to the worldwide chorus welcoming him to our club.
Yes, I was less than thrilled to see him emerge as the frontrunner for the job. That's now beside the point: he's the gaffer. I certainly hope that he will see out his 3 year contract at the club, and if health permits, stay around for a good deal longer.
I hope fans will not place unduly high expectations on the team in the near term. Roy certainly got his players at Fulham to play with passion last season, and I for one will be glad just to see Roy instill some of the same spirit into our bunch. Who knows, Anfield may find its voice again.
